I don't really watch horror; the nearest match is probably something by Hitchcock.

Dr. Strangelove. I say it counts, especially if Star Wars does (I insist that the latter is fantasy, not sci-fi).

The Lord of the Rings.

The Third Man would be a good choice.

Lawrence of Arabia.

Such a depressing genre. Would you balk at Hamlet?
