So all of a sudden, Firefox hates me. I hadn't been doing anything different lately. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it to no avail. This is frustrating; I'm running regular Mozilla at the moment, but it isn't nearly as much fun.

I've been having a bit of trouble with Firefox too. It'll just suddenly stop working. And to get it back working right again, it isn't enough to just close it normally, I have to go into Task Manager and shut down firefox.exe in processes. I think it's a problem with some Java applets, but I don't really understand these things... (If it does it again I'm going to completely uninstall and reinstall Java. But I'm putting it off for the moment.)

I've had no success. Efforts to solve the problem so far have only (it appears) made it worse. I'm on Mozilla 1.7 for the foreseeable future.

You do not provide much detail as to what your problem is. Being this the case, I suggest you read Standard Diagnostic to help solve your problem. It has been beneficial to many users with Firefox problems.
