So I guess this is my first restaurant review
Scott: "That was the single best fast food experience I've had, ever."
One chicken sandwich, twelve chicken nuggets, and a medium unsweetened ice tea. That was my supper this evening. It was delicious. Not only was it delicious, but the service was most impressive.
I hereby officially recommend that all of my Longview readers eat at the freestanding Chick-fil-A restaurant on 281 and Gilmer.
The employees were tripping over each other to provide good service. I haven't seen a cashier that eager to get my attention in a long time. She took my order and made change quickly -- while deftly providing another customer with a drink refill -- and had my food to me fresh and hot within about thirty seconds.
It gave me hope for this younger generation.

For Sweet Tea, you can't beat Bush's Chicken...maybe it's a Waco thing... Tea by the gallon sweet enough to cause a diabetic coma.

*Shudders*
No sweet tea. It's not natural. If God had meant for tea to be sweet, he'd have put Americans in charge of it instead of Englishmen.

I don't think Englishmen had anything to do with the iced tea phenomenon. My friend Jen had the hardest time in England getting anyone to put ice in hers.
Real tea is another issue.
*Sigh of longing*
My tins of tea and paraphanelia are in a box in Waco. Having to have Earl Grey by the bag. Now THAT is cause for a *shudder*

Hmm. Now that you mention it, "iced tea" in Europe is usually far worse than Texas sweet tea. Lipton seems to have a corner on the market, and the concoction they serve usually comes carbonated.

Well put sir, though I feel pressed to add that, not only was the service excellent and the food delicious, but also that the atmosphere was as good as a popular fast food restaurant could be. Sure, they had the screaming children near the pen, but the acoustics were perfectly adjusted in the back section. I could still hear the children, of course, but the sound was not nearly as abrasive as it would have been, had it been a single, open room. Not once did I feel the desire to kill a loud child. I am impressed.
