The calm before the storm
This has been a relaxing day. It probably should not have been, but it has.
I made an inconceivably easy presentation in Business Research Methods this morning. "And, uh, as you can see, these data points fall above the curve, and these are the points that fall below the curve, and, uh, that's pretty much it."
Then I went to lunch and registered for my apartment for next semester -- although I was rather annoyed to discover that someone had managed to squat in the very convenient one I was expecting to get.
Then I went to Management, and scribbled down ideas for a short story in order to stay awake during the lecture. (Wheeler and I have a campy little story concept involving a grudge match between two influential historical figures.)
I continued scribbling during the student presentations in Speech. After a few minutes, I decided that this was probably rude to the speakers, so I tried to confine my writing to the interludes between speeches. I didn't feel very guilty, though, since falling asleep during the presentations would have been rude too.
Then I pretty much wasted time for the rest of the afternoon, although taking a nap in the library was probably not a bad thing. Before that, however, I said goodbye to Shem, who crossed my path on his way to see Ardith before he left for Australia. I hope Australia treats you well, Sam. Try to get some sleep occasionally, OK?
Hmm. About that rough draft I have due on Thursday. I should probably work on that a bit.

Hrm. I have more quotes than anyone else up there now. This is disturbing.

Obviously, you had more to say than anyone else. Can I help the fact that you happen to be superior?

Wow. You finally updated your "recently overheard" section. I was afraid your little quotebook was getting underfed.
