Evangelical criticisms of RotK, take two (LeTourneau remix)

Jared "Red Light" Wheeler has had a conversation similar to the one I had with my mother a few weeks ago, regarding the supposedly insidious spiritual elements in Return of the King. This time, he was arguing with a mutual friend about Gandalf's soteriology. They also debated Sam Gamgee's weeping, concerning which Wheeler writes some very beautiful and moving observations.
