This reminds me of emails I used to delete. That said:
Cats, as they are prouder than dogs
Brunettes, as Sharon is the best
Network, as a cable alone is useless
Beef, as chickens are too small
Glasses, as contacts are too much work
Mountains, as beaches are overrun
Audrey, for some reason
lobotomy, as I feel sleepy
Amazon, as its faster and I get to keep it
Kelly, as he is the man
Huh?
Chicago, as She lives there and loves it
Wood, as its better for outdoor feet
Blueberry, as ITS BLUEBERRY!
Pacific, as bombs are good
Journal, as I'm not a girl
Desktop, as laptops aren't as cheap or upgradeable
Foreign, as a certain Dr. has convinced me
Thoreau, as he is more thorough
Tennis, as golf is a game, not a sport
Pascal, as the language is cool
Copy, as Xerox is a (nice) monopoly
Kleenex, as it always has been
Rain, assuming I can get thunder too
Chef Boyardee, if you're buying

Somehow, I fell hungry. Thanks Wilson, I just brushed my teeth.

1. I would sooner shoot a pet than be responsible for owning one for myself, but given the choice, I'll side with dogs
2. blond(e). Why not.
3. cable
4. beef. Because chicken chili stinks.
5. glasses, of course
6. Whoa, hard one. I'm going to say mountains.
7. Katharine Hepburn
8. I don't know what lobotomy is. I could go look it up, but I'm already under the suspicion it won't make me laugh as hard as Napoleon Dynamite.
9. Amazon, definitely
10. Not sure what this one is about, but I like the name Astaire
11. Poirot
12. I've been to Chicago, not to New York. Can't say for sure.
13. carpet. Cold floor = ungood.
14. strawberry (skittles!)
15. theater: European. Not sure what is meant by this one too.
16. journal
17. desktop, because it's more powerful, though I have both.
18. American film
19. Emerson
20. I stink at both, but I guess I stink a little bit less at tennis
21. I feel so under-read! :(
22. copy. Because.
23. tissue. For the same reason as above.
24. Without question, shine.
25. Very difficult. Both have seen me through many hungry nights... I would say Chef Boyardee because I don't buy it in bulk and then become rather disenchanted with it over the course of the semester.

Oooooooooooooh

I *think* I just understood it... as in World War 2, Pacific or European theaters of combat.

I chose my preference by complete ignorance!

1. Cats, because they don't fly into a mad frenzy of barking at the slightest provocation
2. Personality
3. Cable
4. Chicken
5. Glasses
6. Mountains any day of the week (and twice on Fridays)
7. Katharine (because she's the only one I've seen in action)
8. Lobotomy, because (based on what I've heard and seen of the film) it's better for my mental health.
9. Amazon
10. *shrugs*
11. Poirot
12. Hmm...windy or apples?
13. wood (it's lots easier to clean)
14. strawberry
15. No (Sorry; I know that's probably not the "theater" you meant, but I couldn't resist the opportunity for the pun. The pun conveys my "correct" answer, in any case.)
16. The difference is purely semantic; I usually favor "journal".
17. desktop
18. depends on the particular film
19. Haven't read enough of either to make a judgment
20. tennis
21. Descartes
22. copy (generic over specific)
23. tissue (see previous)
24. rain
25. Ramen (you can do more with it)

Ludwhig gets a gold star.

Martinez, just exactly what are you doing with your ramen?

The thoughts of Wilson on 19 July 2005 - 11:42 Central
+ + + + +

May I have half a star for a reference so obscure that no one got it?

The thoughts of Rachel on 19 July 2005 - 17:09 Central
+ + + + +

Let's see, things one can do with ramen (I haven't done all of these, but I have tried a few):

1) fry the noodles (after or instead of cooking them in water)
2) add chicken, beef, etc.
3) add various kinds of sauce instead of or in addition to the ramen seasoning
4) serve the noodles on salads or in casseroles
5) whatever else you can think of
6) any combination of the above

Granted, you could do any of those with Chef Boyardee, but ramen lends itself better to most of them. On the other hand, "Chef Boyardee" covers a much wider range of foodstuffs than does "ramen."

Another plus for ramen (at least for me) is that ramen packets are much lighter than Chef Boyardee cans, and are thus suitable for backpacking food. They're also cheaper than dirt.
