I Have a Strong Aversion to Mondays
But I fully realize that nothing can be done to fix the problem. Any attempt to do away with Mondays would be akin to removing the 13th floor of a high-rise building. Sure, you can tell them they're on the 14th floor, but everybody knows . . .
Anyway, the last week or so has been pretty much a blur . . . Outside of the movies I've watched and classes I've attended, I really don't remember much . . . and I am now trying to slide gracefully down into Spring Break (which, for me, begins at 12:15 PM on Friday). I'm not too picky about the graceful part, and I'll probably wind up flopping clumsily into my well-earned, greatly-needed, much-desired vacation. I'll be spending my ten days on-campus this year, for various reasons. I plan to do nothing (for the most part) but eat, sleep, watch movies, and catch up on my reading. Rachel, Uncle Doug, and Martinez will all be here as well, and I look forward to a grand time with the three of them.
But I'm not there yet. I still have a short essay about differing perspectives on the French Revolution . . . Psych, American Lit, and Texas midterms . . . an extra credit essay on the Spanish expeditions into Texas . . . and 10 pages of Psych journals (well, technically about 8 now, I think). I've had worse workloads, but as I say, the 10 days of bliss are not upon me yet.
Here goes nothin' . . .

I find it hard to believe that "50 first dates" is not as equally, contrived, predictable and wearing as "Shark Tale"...I knew you'd like Ed Wood.
Upon examining the reasoning behind my ratings . . . I had higher expectations for "Shark Tale" because I didn't hear much about it and I've never really been disappointed by a computer-animated movie that I can recall. I have, on the other hand, never seen an Adam Sandler movie that I enjoyed at all. Shocked that "50 First Dates" did not make me want to tear out my eyeballs and use them to plug my ears, I gave it a higher rating than it probably deserved. Still, a C- is nothing to be proud of.
Posted by: Blame Jared at March 8, 2005 11:06 AMAt least go to a national park with some history for a day. It is not healthy to stay at school that long.
Hey, well, IŽm glad you are not proud of a C- . No se que voy a hacer......I am going to stay in Seville for Semana Santa, or if I go somewhere else, IŽll by a ticket 2-3 days before and that should be cheaper. They have so much gold here so IŽll probably just stay in Sevilla and see the Semana Santa of Semana Santas.......IŽll blog about it.......after all, IŽll have all week off.....ç
Oh, and you donŽt have to, but I expect a personal email of at least 5 lines (small font) since you have a vacation :)
Asa, it surely cannot have escaped you notice that LeTourneau University is in the middle of East Texas. I don't know what "a national park with some history" might conceivably consist of, but the point is fairly moot since there isn't anything like that around here.
Besides, LeTourneau campus is one of the nicer places in the area. There's nothing wrong with staying on it. Leaving school is statistically less healthy than staying.
Posted by: Blame Jared at March 8, 2005 04:49 PMOh......I forgot. WEll, road trips might be dangerous because your car might break down like mine did when I came to see you.
I wish I could visit Letourneau. Well, I guess if you like the area it isnŽt such a big deal.
By a national park, I was just thinking of a change of atmosphere. But thatŽs fine if you really like it. Nevermind about the park with history......I think I was tired when I wrote it.
So are you eating breakfast these days?
Just wondering......sorry for getting off subject, but I donŽt know how you are living nowdays :)
Ahh...interplay of expectations noted....
Posted by: fry at March 10, 2005 07:09 AMI have a strong aversion to people who sit around like a slob all spring break and don't update their blogs . . .
Posted by: Andy at March 18, 2005 11:39 AMI remember seeing Evolution with you that first summer you visited me!
Posted by: Andy at March 18, 2005 11:41 AMHey, I saw evolution with Jared for the first time too.....forgot where... wish you were at JBU still :)
Yeah, there is no excuse for slacking off on his blog... Shame on you Jared!!
Posted by: Asa at March 18, 2005 12:33 PMI wish I was at JBU as well. :-)
Posted by: Andy at March 18, 2005 07:39 PMWell, maybe Jared is spending too much time with his girlfriend,
Um...Andy, could you send me an email? I want your address but I do not have it. Sending me an email would solve the problem. I would ask Jared, but asking Jared for an email is like trying to get a dead dog to do tricks.
Posted by: Asa at March 19, 2005 02:14 PMYeah, that Jared guy isn't too great at communicating most of the time (and I sent an e-mail to your JBU address).
