Haha. I'm 83% southern, but the description is totally wrong for me. Sure, I grew up and lived in the south, but this SO not my grandmother: "lives in an antebellum home and has a cook who makes the best fried chicken and asparagus casserole and summer squash and everything else in the world."

Fun quiz to start the day - I'm also more southern than you (when the quiz options are considered this is probably due, in part, to the age difference--but a lady shouldn't admit her age, right?)

I had another thought. I haven't been in a living nativity but I have spent spent several evenings as part of a Singing Christmas Tree outside of our church in Dallas when I was in my teens. It was a bit strange but harmless :)

What on earth is a Singing Christmas Tree?

Well, I suppose we should ask if she knows what a Christmas Tree is, and if she is aware of what singing is. Has she seen The Three Amigos? If not, I recommend she refer to that film. It has a singing bush which she could use for reference.

I know what a Christmas Tree is, and have even been caught singing myself. However, I have no knowledge of this The Three Amigos of which you speak.

*envisions small children holding fir branches, singing, and... uh...*

Ardith- Consider the picture provided by Wilson only larger, outside, with "real" greenery attached and give the "singing heads" early 70's hairstyles and you come closer to my experience - I really wish I had a picture but we didn't bother with many pictures since our camera at the time was a Kodak Instamatic with flashcubes :)
